Community Voter Engagement Meeting

Sponsored by Black & Brown Women’s Voting Initiative & Community Partners

“There’s A Seat at the Table for Everyone”

The Black & Brown Women’s Get out the Vote Campaign returns in 2022, for early voting and our primary elections scheduled for May 17, 2022.

This community collaboration was established in 2020 with Saint James Presbyterian Church Social Justice Advocacy Ministry, the Beloved Community Center and included 30 partner organizations spreading to 6 additional North Carolina counties.

Our present partners include Greensboro Pulpit Forum, members of the local chapter of Bennett College Alumnae Association, National Council of Negro Women, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. SKO Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. We are in communication with other organizations to join this important work.

We have decided on a community meeting schedule beginning on April 14, 2022, extending to Tuesday, May 17, 2022, which is Primary Election Day. Our meetings will be provided via Zoom as well as in-person.

Our particular areas of focus include canvassing, developing a social media platform, creating events /programs, and providing transportation just to mention a few methods of voter engagement.

Everyone is invited to a seat at the table to share, brainstorm and support the work that is on-going and planned to get our community to the polls either in early voting or on Primary Election Day.

These meetings will be held every Thursday at 7:00 PM. This will be a Zoom or in-person event and hosted by the Beloved Community Center located at 417 Arlington Street, Greensboro, North Carolina.
